We are all looking forward to the next golf season. We don’t know in what kind of conditions we will be permitted to play but I will take some time to explain to you some Rules of Golf that already exist that could help to eliminate any contacts with other people and objects.
In a few weeks I will suggest a few changes that should be done to the Rules of Golf in order to be safer.
Rule 1.2b Code of Conduct
The Committee may set its own standards of player conduct in a Code of Conduct adopted as a local rule. Not touching another player or his equipment could be included with penalties for breaches. It is possible to give warnings or penalty strokes. We could also include a disqualification in case of a serious breach.
Rule 2.4 No Play Zone
It is possible to declare any part of the golf course as a No Play Zone. For a ball played from a No Play Zone, the penalty is two strokes and the Code of Conduct may give penalties for someone going inside the No Play Zone.
Rule 4.3 Equipment
Under the Rules of Golf, we may use a cellular phone or any other device to look at the weather, the news, civil protection, etc.
We also may use gloves on both hands’ and gloves under our golf gloves. The only condition is that it should not be designed to help gripping the club with special features.
As for the dress code, nothing in the Rules of Golf says what you should wear. In some professional tours it is not permitted by local rules to wear shorts or tiny skirts.
Rule 5.7 Stopping Play; Resuming Play
Sometimes play is stop at the end of the day (too much rain, course impractical, lightning, etc). When play is resumed, we may always change balls, even if we had marked, lifted the ball or left the ball in place.
Rule 6.2 Playing ball from teeing area
A ball may be teed or played from the ground. It is possible to place the ball on a sand mound or on anything on the ground. We are also allowed to create the imperfection on the ground an put the ball on it. The ball can be placed with a club or anything else without restriction.
NEXT WEEK WE WILL CONTINUE WITH OTHER RULES
